Product Questions

What is a vibrator?
A vibrator is an intimate pleasure object used to enhance the sensation of sexual play whether it be used for self pleasure (masturbation) or partnersex.

Are all the Vibrators on your site safe to use?
Yes. The food grade vinyl and elastomer vibrators are made in Japan under license to Vibratex in the USA. Our Elastomer products, have NO phthalates and the food grade vinyl products satisfies the FDA Toxicity Quotient criteria.  We have LELO which are made from PC-ABS (polycarbonate ABS) and medical grade silicone.  The Fun Factory range are made from silicone. All vibrators available on this site are selected first and foremost for safety andsecond for functionality and quality of the product. Bswish products are ABS Plastic with a polyurethane coating.

We regard the phthalate levels found in some vibrators to pose a potentially serious health risk and as your safety is of utmost importance we choose to offer safe products made from safe materials.  Please note the medical grade silicone, elastomer and soft skin products on our site DO NOT contain phthalates.

What kind of vibrators are there?
We offer waterproof vibrators that can be used in the bath or shower.
Small pocket vibes that can easily fit into a handbag
Battery operated vibrators with shafts that vary in length and width for external exploration or internal stimulation. They have variable speeds. Some of these are splashproof. Some vibrators offer a combination of clitoral and penetrative stimulation at the same time. These are known as Dual Vibes.

How do I care for my vibrator?
To clean vibrators use hot water and soap. Make sure you do not get water in the battery compartment or in the opening for rechargeables.  Using a toy cleaner is also recommended because of the anti bacterial element.

Always use a water based lubricant with the silicone vibrators.

Silicone and water based lubricants are fine used with the elastomers – remember oil is oil and is primarily for massage – so do not smother your vibrator in oil or use oil based products as it will degrade the elastomer.
Remember not to get water into the battery control panels

What makes your range of vibrators different from any other?
We offer intimate pleasure products made from medical grade silicone and elastomer (a non toxic alternative). The grade of rubber, latex, vinyls and quantities of plasticisers (phthalates used to soften the PVC vinyls), can often be questionable, their porous surface is a holding ground for bacteria and yeast infections. Vibrators that contain large quantities of plasticisers smell terrible and can leech (bleed) into the body.  You can have total confidence in the quality of our products and safety standards.

I have not had a vibrator before what do you suggest?

The LAYAspot Massager is a great first time vibrator. The outer shell is made of a soft, hypoallergenic polymer material, and the curved shape fits comfortably against your erogenous zones! Has three speeds from gentle to full on. A recent addition is the LELO Nea which is an ornate pleasure object with a porcelain-like finish and a deceptively powerful purr. The LELO Lily is another option.  Because of the material it is made from it is a more expensive option

The Angel Kiss and the Little Kiss are both ideal for first time use in an exploratory way. Also the little Honey Bear and Honey Dog are great styles for clitoral play. At the end of the day it is all about what feels good for you, and we each need to persevere and explore to find what exactly that is, before moving on to high-end turbo charge models.

Once you feel comfortable and are happy inserting a vibrator, then you have a delectable array to choose from. Most descriptions includes the areas they target. The Rabbit Habit and Rabbit Pearl which is the ORIGINAL in the Rabbit series.  They are top value for internal and external stimulation and extra sensory appeal.

How do I learn to use one?
Privacy is essential when learning about your own body, so make the space. Concentrate on your breathing which will help clear your mind. Let your body sensations be your guide. If you need to reduce the intensity of the vibrations, place a towel between the head of the vibrator and your body. Ongoing pressure will generally lead to an orgasm anywhere between 10 – 60 minutes.

Read “Sex for One” by Betty Dodson, she also some great instructional DVD’s that are available on this site so check them out.

What is a dildo?
Dildo: an object used as a substitute for an erect penis (Collins English Dictionary)
Dildos come in many shapes and sizes and all of them in one way or another are meant to substitute for a real penis.

People use dildos for a variety of purposes. Although women orgasm through clitoral stimulation, many do enjoy the feeling of something inside them during masturbation. Many men, gay or otherwise, feel the same way. There are small dildos for anal penetration. They can also be used with a harness to give a woman a penis she can thrust with and still keep her hands free.

What should I look for when buying a dildo?

Buying a dildo involves factors such as length, thickness, hardness and texture. On this site we have dildos made from Elastomer and Softskin.

What is a “butt plug”?
A butt plug is a kind of dildo with a bulge in the centre, so that the shaft gradually thickens and flares out then begins to narrow again. It is designed to provide stimulation to the rectum.

What variants of the butt plug are there?
Another form of butt plug that we have available is flexible anal beads. See Flexi Felix. These consist of differently sized, elliptically formed elements, which deliciously stimulate when gradually introduced and pulled out again. The perfect answer for lovers of anal pleasures!

What is lubricant?
Lubricant is usually a water based, condom friendly liquid or jelly used to enhance or replace a woman’s natural lubrication. Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t need lubricant!  Some lubricants contain silicone and you must be aware that these are NOT suitable to use with a silicone personal pleasure product.

Always liberally apply lube to your toys. Oil based lubricants (generally) should be avoided as they coat the inside of the vagina and rectum and become a breeding ground for bacteria. Petroleum- based oils destroy latex upon contact, making them useless for use with condoms for safer sex. We do not stock oil based or petroleum based lubricants.

We stock a range of personal lubricants.  The Intimate Organic range of lubricants and sexual enhancers are made with certified organic extracts and are Paraben free, DEA free and pure vegan.  Sylk, which we recommend as a NATURAL lubricant that does NOT contain parabens. We also highly recommend YES which is the world's first certified ORGANIC lubricant. Because the Oil based YES lubricant is made out of Shea Butter it is safe to use and both the water based and oiled based act as a moisturiser.  You can even mix the the water and oil together for a different consistency. Finally we have the Sliquid Organic Range. No Parabens and Gylcerines.

Remember it is more fun to 'slip, slop and slide' than to experience drying out and soreness.
